Court supports military hospital in its dispute with contract soldier from Nalchik

In Nalchik, the military court refused to grant a claim filed by contract soldier Denis Anufriev, who requested the military hospital to provide a certificate of injury got in the special military operation in Ukraine. The contract soldier missed the statute of limitations for filing a claim, the court noted.

On February 15, State Duma member Maxim Ivanov reported about massive complaints from militaries wounded in the special military operation in Ukraine. They complained that hospitals in Southern Russia, in particular, in Anapa and Rostov-on-Don, refused to provide them with certificates of injuries, but they needed the certificates to get insurance payments.

Denis Anufriev complained that the military hospital did not give him a certificate of injury, which he needed to receive insurance payments, the “Kavkaz.Realii”* reports. Denis Anufriev requested the court to invalidate the hospital’s refusal to recognize as an insured event his shrapnel tangential wound to the thigh, got “during the performance of the military service.”

The court emphasized that Denis Anufriev became aware of the alleged violation of his rights no later than June 8, 2022, and he applied to the court only on December 6, 2022. “That is, the citizen missed the deadline for applying for judicial protection, and there are no legal grounds for the prolongation of the above deadline,” the court stated in its ruling.
