Lawyer Alexander Savin filed a petition for the conditional early release of Zarema Musaeva, who is serving a sentence for the case of disorganization of the colony settlement.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", the court in Chechnya sentenced Musaeva to three years and 10 months in prison, finding her guilty of disorganizing the work of the colony settlement. The Supreme Court of Chechnya upheld this decision. According to the investigation, in October 2024, Musaeva allegedly hit a FSIN officer and tore off his epaulet while being transported from the hospital in a car. She categorically denied her guilt, calling it a pre-planned fabrication and revenge. The defense decided to seek her release through the mechanism of conditional early release.

Today, Zarema Musaeva's lawyer Alexander Savin submitted a petition for conditional early release to the Shali City Court of the Chechen Republic, reported the Committee Against Torture* (KPP*).

"We are requesting conditional early release for Musaeva, in accordance with current legislation. While still in the pre-trial detention center, she has served the legally required term sufficient to submit such a petition," the lawyer's words are quoted in the KPP* Telegram channel.

Human rights defenders reminded that fundraising for Zarema Musaeva continues on the platform "Zaodno." "This is safe and will ensure special nutrition for a woman with a severe form of diabetes," the publication states.

On May 12, human rights defenders announced a fundraising campaign for the political prisoner Zarema Musaeva, who needs medications and special diabetic food. The fundraising goal is 300,000 rubles, which will be enough for six months of support. As of 14:42 Moscow time, 272,742 rubles have been raised, according to data posted on the "Zaodno" platform. A total of 90.91% of the required amount has been collected, calculated the "Caucasian Knot".

Recall that on June 17, Zarema Musaeva's daughter Aliya Yangulbaeva published an open letter on the social network Instagram** addressed to Aishat Kadyrova, the eldest daughter of the head of Chechnya. In her address, Yangulbaeva asked Kadyrova to assist in freeing her mother, Zarema Musaeva. There has been no response to this appeal from Aishat Kadyrova or Ramzan Kadyrov. Analysts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" doubted that Aishat Kadyrova could influence her father Ramzan Kadyrov's position regarding the release of Yangulbaeva's mother – Zarema Musaeva. Aliya stated that the family and Zarema Musaeva herself hope for a prisoner exchange with the West.

Zarema Musaeva is the wife of former federal judge Saidi Yangulbaev. Chechen security forces took her away on January 20, 2022, from an apartment in Nizhny Novgorod. After that, Ramzan Kadyrov accused the Yangulbaev family of organizing a terrorist network and stated that they would face a place "in prison or underground." In July 2023, Musaeva was convicted in a criminal case of fraud and "use of violence against a police officer." The Akhmat district court sentenced her to five and a half years in a colony, later, in September 2023, the Supreme Court of Chechnya reduced the sentence to five years in a colony settlement. In March 2024, the Cassation Court in Pyatigorsk reduced Zarema Musaeva's sentence by three months – to four years and nine months, satisfying the prosecutor's request.
