Kadyrov has been registered as a candidate in the elections for the head of Chechnya.

The election commission of Chechnya registered Ramzan Kadyrov as a candidate for the position of head of the republic.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on July 8, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, visited the election commission of the republic, submitting documents for participation in the elections on the unified voting day of September 20. He received permission to open a special election account. The next day, the election commission of Chechnya accepted documents from two other candidates for the position of head of the region - the chairman of the Public Chamber of Chechnya, Ismail Denilkhanov, and a deputy of the republican parliament, Khalid Nakaev.

The election commission of Chechnya reported the registration of the first candidate for the elections for the head of the republic.

At today's meeting, the commission registered as a candidate, nominated by “United Russia,” the current head of the region, Ramzan Kadyrov, as reported in the official Telegram channel of the election commission.

The commission has not yet reported on the registration of other candidates for the position of head of Chechnya.

During a live line on December 14, 2025, Ramzan Kadyrov stated that he is fed up with power, but will run for the head of the republic in 2026 if the president proposes it and the people support it. On April 29, Kadyrov met with Putin in Moscow and secured his support, once again calling himself his "infantryman." During this meeting, Putin expressed hope that "the residents of Chechnya will again support" Kadyrov in the elections.

On July 6, "United Russia" nominated Ramzan Kadyrov as a candidate for the position of head of the Chechen Republic. On July 2, the Council of Elders of Chechnya unanimously supported Kadyrov's candidacy in the elections during a meeting in Grozny.
