On April 23, a torchlight procession was held in Yerevan in memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide of 1915-1923 in Ottoman Turkey. Since 1999, such a procession has traditionally opened mourning events in memory of the victims of the Armenian genocide. About 30,000 people took part in the torchlight procession this year.
