Znamensk resident requests compensation for being mobilized

A resident of the Astrakhan Region, who was declared unfit for the military service by a military medical commission, filed a claim for moral damages of 10 million roubles for being illegally mobilized.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on March 28, the Volgograd Garrison Military Court received a lawsuit from Sergei S., a resident of Znamensk, who suffered from a number of diseases, including mental disorders. On March 28, the man was escorted to the division headquarters. The resident of Znamensk was released due to the efforts of advocate Nikolai Lutsenko, after which he returned home and continued to participate in the trial in absentia.

43-year-old Sergei S. graduated from the Serpukhov Military Institute of Missile Forces. In the rank of senior lieutenant, he was dismissed from the military service because of alcohol addiction. The man worked as a taxi driver. He suffered from a number of chronic diseases. Due to his periodic binges, Sergei got a mental disorder, repeatedly tried to commit suicide, and was aggressive. On September 28, 2022, during the partial mobilization, the man received a military summons. Being at firing ground, Sergei continued to drink. He was sent to a hospital to be examined by a military psychologist.
