The Prosecutor's Office of Dagestan accused a Muscovite of justifying terrorism.

The reason for initiating a criminal case was the publication of audio files in a messenger, which, according to the investigation, justified terrorism.

The Prosecutor's Office of Dagestan approved the indictment in the criminal case against a resident of Moscow, accused of publicly justifying terrorism 1 .

According to the investigation, in February 2026, the accused, while outside Russia, posted audio files in an online chat of one of the messengers, containing statements recognizing the ideology and practice of terrorism as correct, needing support and imitation, the press service of the Prosecutor's Office of Dagestan reported on its Telegram channel.

The criminal case has been sent to the Southern District Military Court for substantive consideration.

The Prosecutor's Office did not name the accused in the statement, nor did the supervisory authority specify what kind of audio files and in which messenger the resident of Moscow published.

According to the criminal case registry on the court's website, on August 4, a single case under the article on justifying terrorism was submitted for consideration. The card of the criminal case indicates that the accused is Maxim Chekalov. The next court session has not yet been scheduled.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that the Southern District Military Court sentenced a resident of Dagestan, Gazimagomedov, to an administrative fine of 40 thousand rubles, finding him guilty of public calls for terrorist activities.
