Rostov citizen convicted of murdering his wife released from colony due to participation in SMO

After taking part in the Russia's special military operation (SMO) in Ukraine Vladislav Biryukov, a resident of Rostov-on-Don, who had been sentenced to 16 years in colony for murdering his wife, has been amnestied.

Biryukov had served only a small part of the term and went to the SMO, the parents of the assassinated Anna Biryukova have informed.

The fact that Biryukov had been released from the colony became known in the fall of 2022, when the trial to recover alimony in favour of Anna's parents, who had taken care of their grandson, was not held.

Biryukov's brother has stated that Vladislav was wounded and treated at hospital; now he can return to Rostov-on-Don, but intends to continue participating in the SMO. Anna Biryukova's parents are afraid of revenge on his part. They believe that as a result of his pardoning, they will not know about Biryukov's whereabouts and will lose the payment of compensation for moral harm in the amount of 2 million roubles.

Vladislav Biryukov had worked in the police, and then as a lawyer. According to the prosecution, he killed his wife in January 2019. He inflicted multiple head injuries on her with a hammer, stabbed her in the chest and strangled her. He and his accomplice buried the body in the forest. He had refused to plead guilty, the "Kavkaz.Realii"* project reports.
