Chechen authorities announce further weakening of quarantine regime

Starting from June 1, Chechnya allows walking not far from home and playing sports in the street. The authorities also announced a decision to open dental offices and beauty and hairdresser salons. Users of social network urged the authorities to abolish the system of permits as soon as possible.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in late May, Magomed Daudov, the speaker of the Chechen parliament, announced the extension of the self-isolation regime. Local residents criticized the contradictory statements voiced by the authorities and complained about financial difficulties provoked by the regime of quarantine.

Today, the leader of Chechnya has signed a decree on the second stage of lifting the regime of restrictions, Chechen Prime Minister Muslim Khuchiev announces. "It includes several directions: opening of non-grocery outlets, a walk of no more than four persons within a radius of 500 m from home, and opening of dental offices and hairdresser and beauty salons. However, all the above may be completed only in compliance with the requirements set up by the 'Rospotrebnadzor' (Russian Federal Agency for Consumer Supervision)," said Muslim Khuchiev.

The Chechen Prime Minister has emphasized that the system of permits is still in force in the republic, the TASS reports.

Furthermore, visitors to various institutions are obliged to wear masks and gloves, the "Chechnya Today" reports.

Starting from May 6, in Chechnya, the absence of a protective mask on a person's face has been regarded as a violation of sanitary rules, and violators are fined. Meanwhile, on May 10, on the Day of Mourning and Sorrow of the Peoples of the Chechen Republic, subordinates of the leader of Chechnya visited his father's grave without wearing protective masks and without respecting social distancing, as could be concluded from the report broadcasted by the "Grozny" TV Channel.
