Natives of Dagestan accused of plotting terror act at concert of Russian pop singer

An investigation into the case against four natives of Dagestan, accused of plotting explosions at a concert of Russian pop singer Philip Kirkorov in Makhachkala, has been completed, an advocate reports today. According to him, the defendants deny that they were plotting a terror act.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in October 2017, Dagestani natives Khidirnabi Kazuev, Samir Ibragimov, Gabibula Khalduzov, and Albert Khasbolatov were detained in Moscow and Makhachkala, a source reported.

According to the law enforcement bodies, the detainees confessed that they were members of a dormant unit of the "Islamic State" (IS), a terrorist organization banned in Russia by the court, and were plotting terror acts during public events in Dagestan, as well as attempts on law enforcers and soldiers. According to a source, the natives of Dagestan were also plotting attacks on participants of the festival of youth and students.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for Dagestan completed the investigation into the criminal case, reported Israfil Gadadov, an advocate of Khidirnabi Kazuev. According to the materials of the criminal case, the defendants were plotting explosions at the concert of Philip Kirkorov, a famous Russian pop singer, in Makhachkala, on July 6, 2017, but they failed to get into the hall where the pop singer's concert took place, since the territory was guarded by the police, the news agency reports.

The defendants plead not guilty of plotting a terror act, reports the advocate.
