Moscow government pays out compensations to victims of Dubrovka terrorist act

The Moscow government has started paying out compensations to people suffered as a result of the terrorist act in the Dubrovka theatre center, reported lawyer Igor Trunov. He was told at the Moscow government's social protection department that one time grants set by the court were transferred to the suffered people's accounts before holidays.

As for pensions for the loss of the breadwinner set by the court, the suffered people will start receiving them not earlier than in late May, Mr Trunov said. As of today, the court has satisfied 26 claims for the compensation of material damage in connection with the loss of the breadwinner, reminded the lawyer. Approximately 30 claims are under consideration.

130 people were killed and over 700 suffered as a result of the hostage taking in the Dubrovka theatre center in October 2002, according to official information.
