Peacemakers report on solving electricity supply problem in Martuni

Ingushetia: rally participant sentenced to eight months in prison

Relatives of missing soldiers block a street in Yerevan
Today, members of the families of soldiers, missing in action during the autumn war in Nagorno-Karabakh, have blocked Geratsi Street in Yerevan. The protestors claim discrepancies in the official information concerning the number of the dead bodies found. The relatives of the missing soldiers were met by officers from the scientific and practical centre of forensic medicine, and after the meeting, the traffic along the street was restored.

Investigators again refuse to inquire into beating Mozdok resident by law enforcer
The Investigating Committee for North Ossetia has once again refused to initiate a criminal case against the law enforcer, whom Rostislav Melnichenko, a resident of Mozdok, accuses of beating. Earlier, the General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) of Russia found a similar decision to be illegal.

"Goryanka of the Year" contest reminds of Dagestan people's traditions
Almost 170 applications had submitted for participation in the ethno-contest "Goryanka of the Year" ("Goryanka" means a highlander woman, – note of the "Caucasian Knot"). The winner was Fatima Magomedova from the village of Ratlub, Shamil District. Social network users outraged by unsanitary conditions on Makhachkala beaches
The Dagestan branch of the "Rospotrebnadzor" (Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing) has banned swimming and bathing on the beaches of Makhachkala, explaining this by the risk of getting parasitic and intestinal infections.
