An Armenian soldier and two Azerbaijani soldiers were wounded as a result of a shootout at the border in the Gegarkunik District, the spokesperson for the Armenian General Headquarters reported. The Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Azerbaijan denied the information about the incident.

The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) pronounced a decision that the Russian authorities ineffectively investigated the killing of Aslan Yemkuzhev, a resident of Kabardino-Balkaria, by law enforcers and the version that he was tortured before his death. The Strasbourg Court obliged the Russian authorities to pay 70,000 euros of compensation to a mother of the killed resident of Kabardino-Balkaria.

A shootout took place at the border with Iran, when five violators tried to enter the territory of Azerbaijan. One of them, a citizen of Azerbaijan, was wounded and died on the way to hospital, while four others fled back to Iran.

The alleged militant from the Astrakhan Region shot dead by law enforcers had planned to commit attacks with firearms and cold weapons, while the five persons liquidated in the counterterrorist operation (CTO) conducted in Kabardino-Balkaria had prepared to blow up Muslim buildings, the Russian FSB (Federal Security Bureau) has informed.
