The court in Nalchik sentenced serviceman Fanil Shafikov to three years and five months in prison for failing to report to his unit a week after receiving a suspended sentence for absence from service.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on July 28, the court in Nalchik sentenced serviceman Fanil Shafikov to two years of conditional imprisonment for absence from service.

According to the case materials, serviceman Fanil Shafikov did not report for duty on August 3 and spent time at his discretion in Kabardino-Balkaria until August 17. He then voluntarily reported to the military investigative department.

The Nalchik garrison military court found Shafikov guilty of unauthorized absence from his place of service for more than ten days but not more than one month, and sentenced him to three years and five months of imprisonment in a general regime colony, the court's press service reported on its social media page "VKontakte".

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that the court in Nalchik previously sentenced contract serviceman Garnik Martirosyan to one year and two months of imprisonment, finding him guilty of absence from service for more than ten days.
