The court refused to release Logvinenko from custody.

The district court in Rostov-on-Don extended the arrest of former city manager Alexey Logvinenko, who is accused in a case of abuse of power and bribery. The court did not satisfy the ex-official's request to soften the measure of restraint.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", in June, the court extended the arrest of Alexey Logvinenko until September 23 inclusive.

The Lenin District Court of Rostov-on-Don extended the period of detention for Alexey Logvinenko, 161.ru reports today.

The hearing took place the day before yesterday, on September 21, the press service of the district court reported today. The investigator justified the need to extend the measure of restraint by the "volume of unfinished investigative actions," as explained in the message posted on the court's website.

"The court [...] recognized the investigator's arguments as justified, rejecting the defendant's position on the need to change the measure of restraint to house arrest or bail, prohibiting certain actions. The circumstances that served as the basis for choosing the measure of restraint in the form of detention have not changed. Following the hearing, the court granted the investigator's request and extended the period of detention for Logvinenko A.V. for one month, i.e., until October 23, 2026, inclusive," the publication states.

The criminal case against Logvinenko was initiated on October 24, 2025, under part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. It is "connected with a criminal case initiated on December 9, 2025, against a number of individuals under articles on bribery and mediation in bribery (part 6 of Article 290, part 4 of Article 291.1, part 5 of Article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation)," the court reported.

It should be noted that the investigation initially suggested that Logvinenko, contrary to budget legislation requirements, attracted a loan from a commercial bank, which caused damage to the city budget of 47 million rubles.

Recently, sources reported that Alexey Logvinenko became a suspect in a second criminal case – for receiving a bribe. According to their data, Logvinenko is suspected of receiving 13 million rubles from a representative of a group of commercial organizations in 2019. The investigation considers other city hall employees as participants in the bribe transfer from the entrepreneur.

Alexey Logvinenko resigned in January 2025. He explained that he was leaving due to health reasons and a new job.

Logvinenko was appointed as the head of the Rostov-on-Don administration in October 2019 by the decision of the city duma. In October 2021, the deputies extended his powers. The head of the administration was often criticized on social media, including for his work with the emergency housing stock and for issuing permits for construction in urban grove areas.
