A native of Chechnya is suspected of justifying terrorism.

Investigators in Chechnya have opened a criminal case against a native of the republic, seeing in the video he published a justification for terrorist acts and calls for violence.

The suspect is 45 years old, and he is charged with publicly justifying terrorism on the internet (part 2 of article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of Russia). This article provides for a prison sentence of five to seven years.

According to the investigation, the man posted video material on the internet in which he publicly justified terrorist acts. The recording also contained calls for violence against a certain group of people. The investigation is ongoing, reported the Investigative Committee of Russia for Chechnya on its “VKontakte” page.

The name of the suspect, his place of residence, occupation, date of video publication, and the platform where it was posted are not specified in the investigation's message. It is also not clarified which group of people was referred to in the statements, whether the suspect has been detained, and whether a preventive measure has been chosen for him.

“Caucasian Knot” also reported that 22-year-old Mariyam Dondaeva, a native of the Urus-Martan district of Chechnya, was arrested in Oryol on charges of justifying terrorism on the internet. Dondaeva is a student at the Oryol Medical College; she enrolled in the budget department in 2020 to study nursing. The girl's name was added to the register of terrorists and extremists by Rosfinmonitoring but was soon removed from it.

A military court in Rostov-on-Don has been considering the case of a resident of the village of Kiyankiz in the Andropov district since August, accused of publicly justifying terrorism due to a comment in a messenger. According to the prosecution, the woman, holding radical-extremist views, justified the attacks of Ukrainian drones on the city of Chapayevsk in the Samara region in April 2025.
