A resident of Ingushetia is accused of attacking police officers.

The court in Ingushetia deemed the arrest of 40-year-old Ruslan Saynaroев, accused of attacking police officers in 2009, legal.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on December 26, 2009, on the outskirts of the village of Ordzhonikidzevskaya (since 2015 - Sunzha), at the moment a police patrol car was passing by, an explosion occurred. The security forces then reported that there were no casualties.

The Magas District Court chose a preventive measure for local resident Ruslan Saynaroев, accused of attempting to kill a traffic police officer, "Interfax" reports today, citing the court's press service.

"According to the investigation, on December 26, 2009, around 11:00, at the exit post in the village of Ordzhonikidzevskaya (now Sunzha), while on duty, employees of the traffic police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Sunzhensky district detonated two explosive devices planted on the roadside of the highway," the agency quotes the words of a court representative.

The preventive measure for Saynaroев was chosen three weeks ago and has already been appealed, the Supreme Court of Ingushetia reported today on its page on "VKontakte".

"The appellate court for criminal cases of the Supreme Court of Ingushetia reviewed the materials of the pre-trial proceedings on September 17, 2026, regarding the appeals of the defenders against the ruling of the Magas District Court, which chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for 40-year-old Ruslan Saynaroев, accused of committing a crime under Article 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. On September 1, 2026, the Magas District Court granted the investigator's request, choosing detention for Saynaroев for 2 months (until October 31, 2026)," the publication states.

The Supreme Court also presented the version of the investigation, which indicates that it concerns the same accused in the case of the explosion on December 26, 2009.

"As a result of the explosion, an inspector of the traffic police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Sunzhensky district received bodily injuries in the form of thermal burns to both hands," the message explains.

The appellate court did not satisfy the defenders' complaints and left the ruling of the district court unchanged, the message notes.

For almost two years, there have been no shootouts with security forces in Ingushetia

According to "Caucasian Knot", based on its own materials and information from open sources, the last armed incident involving security forces in Ingushetia occurred almost two years ago, on September 30, 2024.

On that day, security forces conducted an operation to detain eight residents of Ingushetia, who, according to the FSB, were preparing diversions and attacks on security forces. Seven suspects were detained in Magas and Nazran, while the eighth offered armed resistance and was killed, the FSB reported.

This shootout became the first such incident in six months, since March 2, 2024, when a counter-terrorist operation regime was introduced in Karabulak. According to security forces, militants opened fire on them during an attempted detention, and in the shootout, six militants of the "Islamic State" (a terrorist organization banned in Russia) were killed, three of whom were wanted at the federal level.

In turn, the counter-terrorist operation in Karabulak became the second in Ingushetia in 11 months. Before that, the counter-terrorist operation regime was declared in April 2023. At that time, security forces discovered suspected participants in the attack on the traffic police post at a farm in Malgobek. The suspects opened fire on security forces, injuring one of them and fleeing. They managed to escape from security forces twice – on April 3 in Malgobek and on April 5 in Zazikov-Yurt.
