Elections in Kabardino-Balkaria were held peacefully and without protest activity. Authorities reported a turnout of over 80% of voters by 18:00.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on September 18, the first day of voting, surveyed residents of Nalchik shared their views on the elections. Some respondents considered participation in voting mandatory, one of them positively assessed the work of the State Duma, while others stated that they would not go to the polling stations, citing distrust of the deputies and the counting of votes. Among the complaints were also low pensions and rising prices and tariffs. Deputies of the State Duma should cancel the pension reform, address the issues of providing housing for orphans, and the rise in tariffs, prices for medicines and food, voters from Kabardino-Balkaria indicated on the second day of voting.

Preliminary turnout by the time voting ended in the State Duma elections, as of 20:55 Moscow time, was 56.66%, according to data from the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, TASS reports.

As of 18:00, 444,930 voters in Kabardino-Balkaria voted in the elections for deputies of the State Duma – this is 80.47%, reported the head of the republic, Kazbek Kokov.

The third day of voting has concluded in Kabardino-Balkaria. No obvious facts of violations of election law have been registered, reports the KBR Election Commission.

According to the KBR Election Commission, as of July 1, 2026, there were 552,855 registered voters in the republic.

According to local media reports, concerts by artistic groups were organized at polling stations to create a festive atmosphere. In some places, treats from national cuisine were even prepared for voters, reports a correspondent from "Caucasian Knot".

A resident of Nalchik Oleg Sergeev, commenting on the elections, said that the authorities turned the elections into a kind of national holiday.

"People perceive this as something very important for the country, and it is indeed so, and they go and vote. Perhaps this is the only moment when they feel their connection to something significant. And for most, it doesn't even occur to them that elections can be used for a protest action - to hold a picket or organize a rally," he told a correspondent from "Caucasian Knot".

Politician Hakim Kuchmezov believes that the people understand that the country is already in a difficult situation and it is not the time for protests.

"The authorities just want to prolong what exists because the times are tough. Those who are dissatisfied with some laws passed by the Duma simply do not go to the elections," he noted, indicating that according to turnout data, the dissatisfied "are definitely not the majority".
