Human rights defenders assessed the awarding of Kadyrov's daughter with a medal in memory of her grandfather.

By awarding his children medals and other awards, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, is trying to shape the image of the family; however, the presence of awards is unlikely to play a positive role in the future.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on August 22, the assistant to the head of Chechnya, his third daughter Khutmat Kadyrova, received from him the medal "Memory of Akhmat Kadyrov".

The awarding of Kadyrov's daughter with a medal in memory of her grandfather was commented on September 7 by the chair of the "Civic Assistance" Committee, Svetlana Gannushkina, and an anonymous human rights defender familiar with the situation in Chechnya.

Svetlana Gannushkina believes that the awarding of the daughter is about forming some kind of image for her. "And this is not necessarily for real merits. This is about image formation and, so to speak, connections between this clan, this family, and all members of this family. It is assumed that this will protect them in the future, although, unfortunately, I doubt it. I would be glad to think that they will all be safe after their father is replaced, but I am not sure that any awards given during his rule will help them," she said.

The human rights defender does not rule out that by awarding his children, Kadyrov wants to remind the supreme authority of himself. "To show that this united clan deserves further encouragement from this supreme authority," Gannushkina pointed out.

In her opinion, the awarding of Kadyrov's children is unlikely to serve positively for their future. "Such awards to those close to him certainly devalue these awards and are unlikely to serve as protection for them in the future," Gannushkina explained.

An anonymous human rights defender familiar with the situation in Chechnya believes that these awards do not positively influence public opinion. "This family loves to flaunt these medals, although everyone has already gotten used to these awards. All this can be compared to Brezhnev, who also loved to periodically award himself," he said.

In his opinion, these awards do not hold special significance for the supreme authority. "Mostly, these are awards of regional significance; Kadyrov himself makes decisions on their awarding. It's the same as buying a badge at the market and pinning it on your chest," the human rights defender stated.

The awarding of Kadyrov's children and Kadyrov himself does not matter for the election campaign, he believes. "There are no elections as such in Chechnya. Voter turnout is very low - around 20 percent of voters. The rest is attributed. And there are no serious candidates in the elections," the human rights defender emphasized.

Recall that on July 6, "United Russia" nominated Ramzan Kadyrov as a candidate for the position of head of the Chechen Republic. On July 2, the Council of Elders of Chechnya unanimously supported Kadyrov's candidacy at a meeting in Grozny. On April 29, Kadyrov met with Putin in Moscow and secured his support, once again calling himself his "infantryman." During this meeting, Putin expressed hope that "the residents of Chechnya will again support" Kadyrov in the elections. At the same time, during a live broadcast on December 14, Ramzan Kadyrov stated that he was fed up with power but would run for the head of the republic in 2026 if the president proposed it and the people supported him.

On August 11, the chairman of the Public Chamber of Chechnya Ismail Denilkhanov and the deputy of the republican parliament Khalid Nakayev were registered. On August 6, Kadyrov was registered as a candidate. On July 9, the Chechen election commission accepted documents from Denilkhanov and Nakayev. On July 8, Kadyrov submitted documents to participate in the elections on the single voting day on September 20. He received permission to open a special election account.

Almost the entire management system in Chechnya is personally tied to Ramzan Kadyrov and people close to him. Ramzan Kadyrov has 10 biological children - four sons (Akhmat, Zelimkhan, Adam, Abdullah) and six daughters (Aishat, Karina (Khadijat), Hedi (Khutmat), Tabarik, Ashura, and Eishat).
