As reported by "Caucasian Knot", in August 2021, Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed three candidates to the Parliament of North Ossetia for the position of head of the republic - these are the acting head of the region Sergey Menyaylo, deputy Medea Eldzarova, and the chairman of one of the committees of the legislative assembly Valery Balikoev. At the meeting of the RSO - Alania parliament on September 19, Menyaylo was elected head of North Ossetia by a unanimous decision of 57 deputies for a five-year term.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has submitted three candidates for the position of head of North Ossetia, writes today "Kommersant" citing the press service of the republican parliament.

The candidates are the current head of the region Sergey Menyaylo, Deputy General Director of LLC "Selengaukol" Oleg Varnavin, and a deputy of the republican parliament, director of the North Ossetian State Academic Theater named after V. Tkhapseyev Chermen Dudati.

The head of North Ossetia will be elected by the deputies of the republic's parliament on September 20.
