A resident of Dagestan was fined for extremist symbols on social media.

The Kizilyurt District Court found a resident of the village of Chontaul guilty of publicly displaying the symbols of extremist organizations and fined him 1500 rubles.

According to the investigation and the court, the resident of Chontaul posted a photo on his page in the social network "VKontakte" with the emblem of the terrorist organization "Imarat Kavkaza", which is recognized as banned in Russia. The offense was identified on August 14, 2026.

During the court session, the man admitted his guilt, explaining that he did not know about the affiliation of the image with the symbols of the banned organization, and asked not to punish him severely, reports the united press service of the courts of Dagestan on their Telegram channel.

The court examined the protocol on the administrative offense, the report of the police officer, and the act of inspecting the social network and found the accused guilty of displaying the symbols of extremist organizations. The article provides for administrative arrest for up to fifteen days.

The Kizilyurt District Court issued a ruling imposing a fine of 1500 rubles. The ruling can be appealed.

According to the registry of administrative offenses on the court's website, the accused in the last case under this article was Zavurkhan Khandiev. The case was submitted to the court on August 17, and on the same day, Judge Omarova issued a guilty verdict.
