A resident of Krasnodar is accused of treason and preparing a terrorist act.

The military court in Rostov-on-Don will consider the case of a resident of Krasnodar accused of preparing a terrorist act, treason, and participating in a terrorist organization. The man faces a sentence of up to life imprisonment.

The accused resident of Krasnodar is 54 years old. He is charged with participation in a terrorist organization, training for terrorist activities, illegal trafficking of explosives, preparing a terrorist act, and treason. In total, these charges carry a potential sentence of up to life imprisonment.

According to the prosecution's version, on September 19, 2025, the man illegally acquired a homemade explosive device for the purpose of committing a terrorist act. The bomb was handed to him by being hidden in a cache, from which the accused retrieved it. The investigation claims that he intended to blow up a certain vehicle, assisting a foreign state and participating in a terrorist organization.

"The criminal activity of the accused was thwarted by the employees of the FSB of Russia for the Krasnodar Territory," the regional prosecutor's office said in a statement.

The agency did not specify the names of the foreign state and the terrorist organization with which the accusation linked the resident of Krasnodar. The prosecutor's office also did not indicate whether the man agreed with the charges.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that on August 12, the FSB reported on the prevention of a terrorist act in Krasnodar. According to the special service, the detained man intended to blow up the car of a military enlistment office employee.

On July 10, the FSB reported the arrest of two suspects in preparing terrorist acts against a high-ranking Ministry of Defense officer, one of whom was detained in the Krasnodar Territory. According to the FSB, the alleged attack was planned to be carried out using a drone with explosives.

On June 17, the FSB announced the arrest of three individuals suspected of preparing terrorist acts in Adygea, Krasnodar Territory, and Tyumen Region under the direction of Ukrainian curators. One of the detainees, according to the special service, was supposed to blow up a military personnel's vehicle.
