Shchukin's report on combating illegal construction has raised skepticism among the residents of Dagestan.

A Coordinating Council has been established in Dagestan to address the issue of illegal construction, reported acting head of the republic Fyodor Shchukin. Local residents, commenting on his report on social media, expressed doubts about the effectiveness of the new body. At the same time, some commentators expressed hope for assistance in legalizing housing, while others debated ways to combat illegal construction.

According to acting head of Dagestan Fyodor Shchukin, the main goal of creating the Coordinating Council is to solve the problem of unauthorized construction and to legalize apartment buildings built without the necessary permits. The authorities intend to develop a unified mechanism to bring such facilities into the legal framework, and the first five buildings in Makhachkala and Khasavyurt have already been transferred to the "green" zone.

Thus, on June 30, the Supreme Court of Dagestan obliged the owner to demolish at their own expense a six-story frame building constructed without the necessary permits. On March 5, the court ruled to demolish an eight-story residential building on Azizov Street, recognized as an illegal construction.
