The Investigative Committee of Chechnya is investigating the case of the disappearance of police officer Yasin Khalidov under the article on murder. The missing person's announcement states that he left his home in Shali and did not return, while his detention at the border of Russia and Kazakhstan is not mentioned.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on May 20, 2023, 19-year-old police officer from Chechnya Yasin Khalidov was detained by border guards at the Isilkul automobile checkpoint in the Omsk region while attempting to cross the Russian-Kazakh border. He had previously tried to resign from service to avoid returning to the combat zone. Human rights activists stated that Khalidov is in danger in the republic. Chechen police did not inform lawyers about the whereabouts of Yasin Khalidov, who was detained while trying to leave for Kazakhstan. Lawyer Alexander Nemov filed complaints with the police, prosecutor's office, and the FSB office in Chechnya regarding Khalidov's disappearance after his detention.

The Bryansk branch of the Investigative Committee of Russia has information about the search for Yasin Khalidov. The announcement is posted in the section "Missing Persons (other regions)".

The announcement states that the first department for the investigation of particularly important cases of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Chechen Republic is investigating a criminal case initiated on 29.08.2024 on the grounds of a crime under part 1 of article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder).

"During the preliminary investigation, it was established that on March 16, 2023, at 10:00 AM, Khalidov Yasin Mukhamad-Emievich, born on 14.07.2003, left his home located at: Chechnya, Shali, Ryazanskaya St., 1 for work-related matters and did not return. To this day, the whereabouts of Khalidov Y.M.-E. have not been established, which gives reason to believe that he may have become a victim of a crime," the message states.

Description of Khalidov: height - 185 cm; stocky build; has a scar from the removal of the sixth finger on the right or left hand; hair - short black; beard - long, black; eyes - brown; face - light, round. He was dressed in: a dark blue sports jacket, dark blue jeans, a gray t-shirt, a black skullcap, and black sneakers with a white sole.

Information about the wanted person is requested to be reported to the investigative authorities of Chechnya, the agency stated.
