A native of Novorossiysk received a sentence for donations to LSR*

The military court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced Evgeny Kalganov to a long term of imprisonment, finding him guilty of financing terrorism and treason.

The charges against Kalganov for financing terrorism and treason (part 1.1 of article 205.1 and 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) provide for imprisonment from eight to fifteen years and from 12 to 20 years, respectively.

According to the prosecution's version, Evgeny Kalganov was in Poland in 2022 and 2023, where he “made fifteen money transfers to the bank details of representatives of the banned terrorist organization Legion 'Freedom of Russia'*, the press service of the Southern District Military Court reported today.

The message does not specify whether the defendant admitted his guilt. It also does not contain information about the circumstances under which Kalganov was detained and how the security forces learned about the transfers.

The court sentenced Kalganov to 16 years in prison, with the first five years to be served in a prison, and the remainder of the sentence in a strict regime colony. The 'Caucasian Knot' currently has no comments from the convicted or his lawyers regarding plans to appeal the verdict.

Evgeny Kalganov is a native of Novorossiysk, he is 34 years old, according to the record in the register of terrorists and extremists of Rosfinmonitoring. Kalganov's data with a note of involvement in terrorism was added to the list on June 27, 2025, the Telegram bot tracking updates to the list indicates.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that the Southern District Military Court sentenced Novorossiysk resident Evgeny Chernyshov to 22 years in a strict regime for collaborating with LSR*.
