The condition of the arrested Russian woman in Georgia has sharply deteriorated.

Russian citizen Tatyana Kurashkevich, arrested in Georgia at the request of the USA in a case related to violations of sanctions against Russia, suffered a hypertensive crisis, and other health problems worsened, but there is no adequate treatment. 54-year-old expert in international trade has been in a detention center in Georgia since June 5. She is accused of facilitating the export of spare parts to Russia in violation of sanctions — for three episodes, she faces up to 20 years in prison, and for one — up to 10 years.

During her detention, Kurashkevich's condition has sharply deteriorated. The prison doctor diagnosed her with hypertension, a pre-diabetic condition, general weakness, and noted the need for surgery to remove a support plate from her ankle. According to human rights activists, the woman is not receiving the necessary medications and timely treatment. On July 16, she experienced a hypertensive crisis — effectively a pre-stroke condition, recorded by a doctor.

The conditions of detention only exacerbate the situation. The norms of detention are violated in the cell — less than 3 meters per person, there is no ventilation, and no walks, although Georgian laws provide for 1 hour of fresh air daily. Human rights activist Ivan Melnikov has already sent a request to the International Committee of the Red Cross, pointing out violations of international law norms and standards of detention.
