Videos of the abuse of children in the Sochi kindergarten were published after the arrest of two educators.

Two educators from Sochi kindergarten No. 35 for children with disabilities have been arrested for abusing their students. In the published footage, a caregiver repeatedly hits a child during mealtime. One of the caregivers stated that it is the children who show aggression towards their peers.

Video recordings of the abuse of children in Sochi kindergarten No. 35 were published today by the Telegram channel Kub Mash.

During mealtime, the educators used force against the children — hitting them on the head, pulling their hair, according to recordings from June 22 and July 2. The recordings are of low quality, but it is clear that a tall figure, belonging to an adult, is hitting a child.

Before the arrest, one of the staff members said that special needs children are often aggressive and harm themselves, particularly by pulling out their hair, but according to her, they are not allowed to record in a childcare facility. "We need to understand the specifics of these children, what kind of disorders they have. They are somewhat aggressive towards themselves and others as well. They are unpredictable," the educator stated. According to her, "these children are like this," and parents are just protecting their children, as stated in an audio recording published by the Telegram channel.

On July 23, it became known that in Sochi, a caregiver and a speech therapist from kindergarten No. 35 were arrested. They are accused of abusing minor students with disabilities. The kindergarten staff "hit the children on the head, pulled their hair, and also insulted the minors and raised their voices at them," reported the Investigative Committee for Krasnodar Krai.

"At the request of the investigator of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region, the court has chosen preventive measures in the form of detention for the two defendants in the criminal case of abusing minor students of the kindergarten in Sochi (paragraphs 'a', 'g', 'e' of part 2 of article 117 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and failure to fulfill their duties for their upbringing (article 156 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) for a period until September 23, 2026," the message in the Telegram channel of the agency states.

The press service of the courts of Krasnodar Krai reported that the Central District Court of Sochi has arrested caregiver Madina Kamliya and speech therapist Veronika Afanasyeva.

The educators were fired, reported RIA Novosti, citing the press service of the city administration.

The story gained attention after parents published posts on social media. The mother of one of the students in the correctional group reported that she noticed unusual behavior in her child after attending kindergarten, as well as abrasions, bruises, and clumps of hair missing.

One of the mothers secretly left a recorder in the group. The recording captured how the caregivers yelled at the children, pulled their hair, hit them, and used foul language. In the parent chat, other mothers confirmed that they noticed bruises, abrasions, and sharp changes in behavior in their children, writes "Morning South".
