Residents of Gudauta urged officials to address the stormwater issue.

During heavy rains, the central highway of Gudauta gets flooded and covered with mud, local residents complained on social media. They demanded that the utility services solve the long-standing problem with the storm drainage.

Residents of Gudauta complained that during heavy rain, the central highway of the city is constantly flooded and the roadway is covered with mud.

"Due to the murky water and mud, the potholes are not visible. Because of the water flows and the mud, snakes have started to crawl towards our homes <…>. Residents are asking for the storm drainage to be cleaned and the drainage system to be restored," the Instagram*-public chp_abh quoted the residents' appeal on July 19.

A video was attached to the post, showing the highway and the flooded roadside.

Commenting on this post, other local residents noted that the problem of flooding the central highway has been relevant for a long time. "Why haven't the storm drains been cleared for a long time? If they even exist there at all," wrote user 11111fer.

"They can't make a sewage system there. As long as I can remember, there has been a problem with this," pointed out user bagratbaga.

Other commentators noted that there are indeed many snakes in this area. "This problem hasn't existed for a long time. There is a store in this place, and the area is covered with concrete, and drainage has been made," wrote ankvab_101.

Commentators called for the stormwater issue to be resolved. "Yeah. Snakes are dangerous. A solution needs to be made, especially since City Day is just around the corner," reminded olaala__v.
