A resident of Melitopol has been convicted in Rostov-on-Don for participating in a terrorist community.

The Southern District Military Court sentenced Melitopol resident Oksana Ptakhina to 18 years in a penal colony, finding her guilty of participating in the activities of a terrorist community.

According to the case materials, in March 2022, unidentified leaders of the terrorist community involved a citizen of Ukraine in its activities through intermediaries. Her case has been separated into a separate proceeding.

The mentioned citizen attracted her relative Ptakhina to participate in the community and connected her with an unidentified employee of the Ukrainian special services, writes "Kommersant" on July 17.

Ptakhina suggested to her relative to gather data on the concentration of Russian military forces, the location of civilian and military infrastructure facilities, and state and municipal institutions in the Zaporizhzhia region.

From March to May 2022, she transmitted information about the location of military personnel and equipment, and in September 2023 - similar information.

The court found Ptakhina guilty of participating in a terrorist community and recruiting into it, sentencing her to 18 years of imprisonment in a general regime penal colony.

Earlier, "Caucasian Knot" reported that on July 14, the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced two residents of the Zaporizhzhia region, Yevgeny Chukhno and Pavel Hortenko, to long terms, finding them guilty of preparing a terrorist act on the railway.
