Seven tons of sand contaminated with petroleum products have been collected in Taganrog.

In Taganrog on the coast, 250 bags of sand contaminated with petroleum products have been collected, and daily monitoring of the water area and coastline is being conducted.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", according to satellite images, an oil film has spread almost three kilometers from the Taganrog seaport. The head of the city assured that "the enterprise's employees are taking necessary measures to prevent the spill of petroleum products".

In Taganrog, 250 bags of sand contaminated with petroleum products have been taken to a specialized landfill, totaling about seven tons, writes "Kommersant" citing the head of the city, Svetlana Kamburova.

According to her, after the drone attack on the fuel oil terminal in the southwestern part of the city - in the Bogudonia area - traces of petroleum products were found. On July 15, the coastline was cleaned, but literally the next day, volunteers again found petroleum products on the coast. During a repeated joint inspection two hours later, according to Kamburova, the coast was clean.

Currently, boom barriers have been deployed in the port's water area to localize possible leaks. A contract has been signed with a specialized organization for the collection, disposal, and recycling of petroleum products, and daily monitoring of the water area and coastline is being conducted.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that against the backdrop of drone attacks on oil refineries, including those located in southern Russia, a fuel problem has arisen. Thus, on June 10, a fire occurred at the oil refinery in the village of Afipsky, on June 5, an oil depot in Ust-Labinsk caught fire, requiring the evacuation of residents of nearby houses. At the oil refinery in the village of Ilysk in the Seversky district, a fire broke out on June 2 as a result of drone attacks. It was extinguished on the same day.
