The former Attorney General of Georgia, member of the "United National Movement" Murtaz Zodelava, convicted in the case of the attempted storming of the presidential palace, was urgently transferred from the Rustavi prison to the "Vivamed" clinic. The third president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, who is serving his sentence in the same institution, stated that Zodelava suffered two strokes, a claim denied by the clinic and the penitentiary service.

They were each sentenced to seven years in prison.

The former Attorney General of Georgia, member of the "United National Movement" Murtaz Zodelava was urgently transferred from prison to the civilian clinic "Vivamed" due to a deterioration in health, reports "News Georgia".

This information was initially spread by the third president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili. Both politicians are serving sentences in Rustavi prison. Saakashvili claims that Zodelava suffered two strokes right in his cell. "It turned out that in the cell next to mine, he suffered a stroke twice," the publication on Saakashvili's Facebook page states.

According to him, prison doctors and some staff allegedly warned the management about the risks, but these appeals were ignored. Saakashvili called the situation with Zodelava "an example of the regime's readiness for the physical destruction of opponents."

"Vivamed" confirmed the politician's hospitalization. According to the clinical director of the institution Zurab Chkhaidze, Zodelava was admitted three days ago with complaints of dizziness. He added that the patient's condition is currently satisfactory, and he remains under the supervision of a neurologist.

"He exhibited general weakness and dizziness, so examinations were conducted, including an MRI of the head. According to the results of this examination, a stroke was excluded, but changes were found that could be related to some pathology experienced in previous years," Chkhaidze stated.

The special penitentiary service also stated that former Attorney General Murtaz Zodelava did not suffer a stroke. "The convict did not suffer a stroke. In accordance with the complaints presented by convict Murtaz Zodelava, he was transferred to the "Vivamed" clinic for diagnosis. According to the results of examinations conducted in the clinic, any acute pathological processes were excluded.
