A soldier from Dagestan was killed in Ukraine

Magomedsharip Magomedov from the Akhtynsky district was killed in combat. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, officials have publicly named the names of at least 2028 soldiers from Dagestan killed there.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", by July 7, officials and law enforcement agencies officially recognized that at least 2027 fighters from Dagestan had been killed in Ukraine.

On July 9, Magomedsharip Magomedov, who was killed in the combat zone in Ukraine, was buried at the Kuzaiskoye cemetery in the village of Akhty. This was reported by the head of the Akhtynsky district, Abdul-Kerim Palchaev.

“Magomedsharip Alimirzaevich, an Avar by nationality, voluntarily decided to go to the combat zone,” the official wrote on his Telegram channel. The age and details of the biography of the deceased are not provided in the publication.

Thus, at least 2028 combatants from Dagestan have been officially recognized as killed on the Ukrainian front. "Caucasian Knot" maintains a named list of natives from the North Caucasus Federal District and Southern Federal District who were killed in the military operation. At the end of June, the administration of the Akhtynsky district reported that a native of the village of Akhty, Jamidin Yuzbekov, and a native of the village of Smugul, Mutalib Isakov, had been killed in Ukraine.

Dagestan ranks first among the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District in the number of killed whose names have been officially disclosed by the authorities. Sergey Melikov, who headed Dagestan in February 2022, was the first among the representatives of the authorities to announce that a Russian soldier had been killed in Ukraine, acknowledging the death of officer Nurmagomed Gadzhimagomedov.
