Additional funds have been allocated to Chechnya and Dagestan for the elimination of the consequences of flooding.

The Russian government allocated another 4.4 billion rubles for the elimination of the consequences of flooding in Dagestan and Chechnya. This funding will be directed towards the restoration of housing stock.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations as of May 22, 274 thousand applications were received from affected individuals in Dagestan. By July 8, payments were received by 65,488 people, which is less than 24% of the total number of applicants.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Russia approved the allocation of additional funds to Chechnya and Dagestan for the elimination of the consequences of the natural disaster. The total volume of the new tranche will exceed 4.4 billion rubles. The money will be directed towards major repairs and the purchase of new housing for citizens whose property was damaged during the flood, "Kommersant" reported today.

The press service of the head of Dagestan clarified the targeted purpose of the incoming funds: the republican authorities plan to distribute them between major repair programs and assistance in purchasing new housing for affected families.

"Regions have previously received funds for the construction and restoration of educational institutions - kindergartens, schools, and colleges," the press service of the Dagestan government stated in a Telegram channel.

Earlier, the Russian government allocated 385 million rubles from the reserve fund to compensate Dagestan and Chechnya for the costs of assisting those affected by the spring flooding.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that residents of the village of Adilotar recorded a video appeal to Putin asking him to take personal control of the situation with payments and the transfer of housing certificates to those affected by the spring flooding in Dagestan.

Residents of Chechnya submitted more than 29 thousand applications to the authorities for payments due to damage from the flooding. According to them, in Chechnya, documents for compensation payments are collected without unnecessary formalities, often just photos of damaged houses are sufficient.

Floods caused by heavy rains began in the North Caucasus at the end of March and became one of the most destructive in recent years.
