All residents of Astrakhan who were poisoned by the grocery store's products have been discharged from the hospital.

The last two patients hospitalized after poisoning from the local grocery store have been discharged from the infectious disease hospital in Astrakhan.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", as a result of food poisoning in Astrakhan, one person died, and another 35 were hospitalized. On July 5, it became known that bacteria of salmonella were found in three employees of the Astrakhan grocery store "Mikhailovsky", whose products were consumed by the victims of the mass poisoning.

All patients who were previously admitted with salmonellosis after consuming products from the local grocery store have been discharged from the regional infectious disease hospital in Astrakhan, the Ministry of Health of the Astrakhan region reported.

"The treatment of patients hospitalized during the salmonellosis outbreak in June 2026 has been completed. The last two patients who were in the hospital have been discharged home. A total of 25 patients were confirmed to have the diagnosis of 'salmonellosis'. Of these, 19 were adults and 6 were children," the ministry's message was quoted by "Interfax" today.

It is worth noting that the daughter of the woman who died as a result of poisoning previously reported that her mother bought ready-made food at the grocery store – fish cutlets, mashed potatoes, and lagman. The woman felt unwell the next morning, and after a few days, she was placed in intensive care. Against the background of diabetes, her condition worsened. Doctors connected the patient to a ventilator, but they could not save her.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that the mass poisoning in Astrakhan became known on June 27. Sources previously noted that all those poisoned had purchased products from the grocery store "Mikhailovsky" – ready-made lunches and dinners. People felt stomach pain and nausea after eating. According to the owner of the grocery store, his subordinates were interrogated by the Investigative Committee employees.
