Villagers in Dagestan complained about the non-payment of compensation after the flooding.

Residents of the village of Adilyotar recorded a video message to Putin asking him to take personal control of the situation with payments and the transfer of housing certificates to those affected by the spring flooding in Dagestan.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", in the villages of Adilyotar and Tutlar, the ground has still not dried out after the flooding, and some basements remain flooded. Residents have mostly returned to their homes, but the commissions assessing the damage continue to work without specific deadlines. Some residents of the villages of Adilyotar and Kadyrotar still have not received compensation for damaged property three months after the flooding. One villager suggested that the prolonged assessment of damage might be related to the status of the settlements.

The appeal of the residents of the village of Adilyotar to the President of Russia was published by the Telegram channel "Headquarters of Dagestan!", which has more than five thousand subscribers. By 22:30 Moscow time, the publication had gained over 400 views.

"We appeal to you out of despair and with our last hope for help. We ask you to take personal control of the process of compensation payments and the construction of houses for the residents of our village," the gathered villagers say in the video.

The villagers expressed concerns that this winter they might be left without housing. Three months have already passed since the flooding, but during this time the situation has hardly changed.

"Our houses remain destroyed, the construction of new housing has not started. We have not received any payments for the construction of houses or housing certificates. The main reason for the current situation is the Akhtash River. No measures are being taken to address this problem. We do not know what to do, we want only one thing - to live peacefully and safely," concluded the residents of Adilyotar.

This morning, the administration of the Khasavyurt district reported on its Telegram channel that the head of the district inspected the progress of preparatory work in the village of Adilyotar.

"Currently, work is underway on filling and leveling the territory at the site. It is noted that this stage is nearing completion. Starting Monday, the next stage is planned - the construction of a quickly erected modular school building," the administration's message states.

Floods caused by heavy rains occurred in the North Caucasus in late March - early April and became one of the most destructive in recent years. Six people died in Dagestan as a result of the flooding. Dagestan and Chechnya were the most affected by the disaster, according to the "Caucasian Knot" report "Spring Flooding in the North Caucasus-2026".
