The case of a Rostov Region resident involved in two terrorist attacks has reached court.

Investigators have sent to court a criminal case against an 18-year-old resident of the Rostov region, who is accused of committing two terrorist attacks on railway infrastructure facilities.

According to investigators, in the winter of 2025, the young man agreed to set fire to a relay cabinet, then received coordinates, purchased the necessary materials, and committed the arson at the Zernograd station on the North Caucasus Railway.

That same month, the man committed another arson attack on another railway facility. He filmed his actions on his phone and sent the footage to his supervisor, Interfax reported today, citing the press service of the Western Interdistrict Investigative Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

Investigators claim the accused received monetary compensation. "There was a threat of disruption to the signaling, centralization, and blocking devices at the railway station. Equipment failure could have resulted in train delays, emergency situations on the railway, significant property damage, and a threat to the lives and health of citizens," the department said in a statement.

The young man has been charged with a terrorist attack 1 , and the case has been sent to court.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that on April 27, the Southern District Military Court sentenced three Rostov Region natives accused of terrorist crimes. The court sentenced Vladislav Matukhnenko, Anton Esauenko, and Evgeniya Kudryashova to lengthy prison terms in the case of arson on the railroad.
