Residents of houses in the Rostov region were evacuated after a drone attack.

A drone attack in the Rostov region caused a fire at a fuel storage facility, evacuating residents of nearby private homes.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," on May 30, drones were shot down in Rostov-on-Don, Taganrog, Salsk, and seven districts of the Rostov region, including Matveyevo-Kurgansky. In Taganrog, two people were injured when a drone struck a private home, and a tanker, a fuel storage tank, and an administrative building caught fire at the port. City authorities have received 21 calls from residents regarding damaged glass in buildings and structures.

Last night in the Matveyevo-Kurgan district, a fuel storage facility belonging to a private enterprise caught fire "due to falling UAV debris," Rostov Region Governor Yuri Slyusar reported on his Telegram channel.

"Residents of nearby private homes have been evacuated for safety. There is no danger. Emergency services are working at the scene, and a fire engine has arrived and begun extinguishing the fire. No casualties have been reported," he wrote.

In the village of Matveyevo-Kurgan, a pharmacy, two stores, and a car were damaged as a result of a UAV attack, the official noted. "The roof, windows, and gas pipe were damaged. The gas supply was shut off. There were no casualties," the publication stated.

As a reminder, vehicle damage has repeatedly appeared in reports on the consequences of drone attacks in the Rostov Region, but compensation for them was not provided until December 2025. Only after a Taganrog resident who lost his car asked about payments during a direct line with the governor did authorities establish a compensation procedure for car owners. The decree provides for a payment of up to 500,000 rubles per damaged vehicle and up to a million rubles for a destroyed one.

In the Rostov Region, a ban is in effect on filming aerial attacks and their aftermath, air defense operations, and military unit locations. The corresponding governor's decree was published on the "Caucasian Knot."
