The emergency zone in Taganrog has been expanded following an air strike.

The state of emergency declared after the missile attack was expanded today due to new damage from the drone strike. Authorities received more than 20 complaints from residents about broken windows in homes and buildings.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," last night, two people were injured when a drone struck a private home in Taganrog, and a tanker, a fuel tank, and an administrative building caught fire at the port. The fire was later extinguished, and no fuel oil leak was detected. The injured man and woman were taken to the hospital.

Residents have filed over 20 complaints about damage to buildings and structures.

Following an emergency meeting of the Emergency Situations Commission, a decision was made to expand the boundaries of the state of emergency declared on May 27, Taganrog Mayor Svetlana Kambulova announced today on her Telegram channel.

According to her, the attack damaged commercial organizations and one social facility, shattered windows in several residential buildings, and damaged one car.

Authorities received 21 complaints from city residents regarding damaged windows in buildings and structures, the mayor announced.

"Specialists have begun inspecting residential and commercial properties to assess the damage. All inquiries will be processed, and commissions will be dispatched to each address," she assured.

A window in a kindergarten was damaged in the attack.

In addition, a window was damaged in Kindergarten No. 94. "Repair work will be completed in the coming days. Children from the group have been reassigned to other premises in the same kindergarten. Parents have been informed," she reported. Kambulova.

The victims remain under medical observation, she added. "We will provide all necessary support. No one will be left alone with their problem. Air attacks in Taganrog occur regularly

As a reminder, Taganrog, in the western district of which the Beriev Aircraft Plant (TANTK) is located, is regularly subject to air attacks. For example, on April 19, three people were injured in a drone attack, and the aircraft plant and park were cordoned off. Telegram users then called for the evacuation of the plant outside the city limits for the safety of residents.

According to official data, at least five people have been killed in air attacks in Taganrog since November 2025. Reports of these incidents mentioned addresses located near the Beriev Aircraft Company.

On May 17, the Rostov Region was hit by three drone attacks. One attack damaged the building of the Azov branch of the Don Technical University. During another attack, a drone was shot down over a children's camp where people were camping, and debris damaged the building's roof. On the morning and afternoon of May 17, drones were also shot down in Taganrog.

Residents of a building in central Taganrog damaged by a rocket in the summer of 2023 were paid 10,000 rubles each by authorities and had their broken windows replaced, although the apartments required significant repairs. Victims have the right to seek compensation through the courts, lawyers interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" indicated.
