HRC "Memorial": uncle of assassinated kid dismissed for refusal to commit perjury in Ingushetia

In Ingushetia, uncle of Rakhim Amriev, a boy of six murdered on November 9, 2007, in Chemulga village by members of power agencies, was fired from his post after a telephone call from the prosecutor's office, the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" informs, reminding that earlier Aslan Amriev refused to give false evidences in the case of his nephew's killing.

"On December 18, 2007, Ramzan Abubakarovich Amriev, father of Rakhim Amriev, 6, assassinated by members of power agencies, addressed the HRC 'Memorial' and said that on December 15 his relative Aslan Amriev, who for a number of recent years had been employed as the executive officer in the administration of Chemulga village, was dismissed by a call from the Prosecutor's Office. Ramzan Amriev is sure that Aslan was dismissed for his refusal to perjure on the murder case of Ramzan's son," the statement of the "Memorial" runs.

"On November 9, 2007, at about 6:30 a.m. a group of the armed people in camouflage and with masked faces rushed into Ramzan Amriev's house. <...>

Submachine gun bursts were heard at the entrance door, three armed men rushed into the house and shouting 'Down, bitches!' opened chaotic shooting. Amriev fell on the floor together with Rakhim and tried to cover the boy with his hand. <...> When he turned Rakhim to himself, Ramzan saw a bullet hole in boy's head, from which blood was gushing out. <...>

The Amrievs were ordered to stand up and brought out into the street. <...> After that, the power agents started to imitate a skirmish, showered the house with grenades and opened fire. <...>

Ramzan Amriev was told that his house was exposed to a special operation aimed to detain his far relative Makhauri, who allegedly was hiding there. However, Mr Amriev asserts that 'he had seen him last time some six years ago, before Makhauri was captured and convicted, and never heard of him since'."

Further, the "Memorial" reminds about kidnapping and beating at night of November 24 in Nazran from the "Assa" Hotel by power agents of journalists of the Ren-TV Company who had filmed a story about the child's murder in Chemulga village, and that all the video materials were stolen.
