The task force reported minor fuel oil spills in Anapa. The storm dumped numerous fuel oil spills and even exposed buried bags of previously collected contaminated sand. Judging by the volume of the spills, the sand sifting operation needs to begin again, the blogger noted.

Fuel oil particles up to 1.5 centimeters in size were found primarily on washed-up seaweed along a roughly six-kilometer stretch from Anapa's Central Beach to the pier near the Era Technopolis. Smaller emissions were also found in the area of ​​the village of Blagoveshchenskaya, along a 1.5-kilometer stretch, the Krasnodar Krai task force reported today.

"Even far from the water's edge, there are still a large number of chunks of fuel oil—apparently, this is fuel oil that was buried deep in the water, but was released after sifting, weathering, and rain. The winter storm season has begun, and it looks like sifting, if it happens at all, will only happen in the spring, because the debris washed up by storms will need to be constantly removed," noted the author of the "Makovozovy" blog.

He posted a video from a beach on the guest driveway in Dzhemete. "The beach is littered with oil spills, as well as washed-out nets and even sacks of oil that had been buried in the sand since winter. I don't understand why they removed the mounds of nets. They should have left them. They cheerfully reported that all the beaches had been sifted, but now it's even more impossible to do so because the trash gets in the way and the sand itself is soaking wet. There are countless nets that were once washed away and even sacks full of oil buried in the dunes," the blogger said.
