SBU files in absentia charges against Ramzan Kadyrov

The Security Service of Ukraine suspects the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov of violating the laws and customs of warfare.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel wrote, the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov has been declared wanted by the Security Service of Ukraine as hiding from preliminary investigation bodies. Kadyrov is accused of waging "aggressive military actions". The Investigative Committee of Russia has qualified the announcement of Ramzan Kadyrov's wanted list by Ukrainian law enforcement agencies as "bringing an obviously innocent person to criminal responsibility."

The Security Service of Ukraine has brought new charges in absentia against the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, RIA Novosti reported on September 1, citing data from Ukrainian authorities.

Kadyrov is charged under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the laws and customs of war). According to the SBU, the statements made by the head of Chechnya violate the laws and customs of warfare in accordance with the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC).
