Investigative Committee recognizes poisoning of children in Anapa hotel as a crime

A criminal case has been opened after children were poisoned with chlorine while swimming in an Anapa hotel. Authorities claim that the hotel provided "all support measures" to the injured guests.

As reported by "Kavkazsky Uzel", seven children were hospitalized after swimming in one of the Anapa hotels. The families of the victims said that the hotel staff did not provide them with assistance and did not call an ambulance.

The Investigative Committee of Kuban opened a criminal case after an incident in one of the hotel complexes in Anapa, where several guests sought medical attention on August 27 with symptoms of chlorine poisoning.

The Investigative Committee's publication claims that only six children were hospitalized and that their health is currently not in danger.

A criminal case has been opened under the article on the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements (Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation provides for up to two years of imprisonment or forced labor), according to a message on the official Telegram channel of the department.

Investigators have inspected the scene of the incident and are questioning witnesses; examinations have been ordered to determine the extent of harm to the health of the victims. According to the Investigative Committee, there are no specific suspects in the criminal case yet.
