Court places under house arrest man who confessed to shooting at tourist in Abkhazia

Russian tourist Konstantin Belozerov named the person involved in his injury. Suspect Nuriy Khagush admitted to using a firearm. The court refused to remand him in custody and sent him to house arrest for two months.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" reported, Russian Konstantin Belozerov was injured in Gagra after a conflict over dress code. According to his wife, she was forced to say that her husband was injured in an accident. Sources reported that one of the Abkhaz officials participated in the conflict.

The Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is investigating a criminal case initiated on the grounds of crimes under Part 2 of Art. 105 and part 1 of article 217 of the Criminal Code on March 27, 2025, on the fact of a gunshot wound to Belozerov Konstantin Anatolyevich, which took place on March 13 of this year in the city of Gagra.

Tourist Konstantin Belozerov, who was injured in the shooting in Abkhazia, gave testimony on August 5, in which he named for the first time the person involved in his injury, and also provided information about the relationship that developed between them during the time of providing medical assistance, the Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Abkhazia reported.

On August 12, 2025, a resident of the city of Gagra, Nuriy Khagush, came to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and informed the investigation about the circumstances of the incident with Konstantin Belozerov and his use of a firearm, as a result of which the latter suffered serious bodily harm, Apsny Press reported.
