Eskova's husband achieved her return home

Sochi resident Olga Eskova was discharged from a psychiatric dispensary and her stay there was counted towards her administrative arrest for a pro-Ukrainian comment. Olga's husband, who filed complaints with many agencies, said that he was informed of a criminal case against his wife.

The court sentenced her to 15 days of arrest for a pro-Ukrainian comment on Telegram, but after five days in a special detention center, she was transferred to a mental health facility. Eskova's relatives were informed that she attempted suicide. After the end of her arrest, the woman was not released from the psychiatric hospital. The husband of Sochi resident Olga Eskova sent a complaint to the head of the Investigative Committee. The security forces intend to return her to the detention center to serve the remaining 10 days of her arrest, he said, noting that doctors have not given recommendations on the detention and treatment regime, and Olga is experiencing severe stress due to the possibility of ending up in the detention center again. Eskova's arrest has been appealed. In her complaint, the woman stated that she was not allowed access to a lawyer and that pressure was put on her.

The woman spent a month in a detention center and a mental hospital after a comment in support of Ukraine on a social network. On August 12, Sochi resident Olga Eskova, charged under Part 1 of Art. 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation in "propaganda or public display of Nazi paraphernalia or other prohibited symbols", was discharged from the mental hospital (NPU) and the term of her stay there was counted towards her punishment.

Olga's husband, Eduard Eskov, said that during her stay in the detention center and hospital, he had to contact the prosecutor's office, the Department of Internal Affairs, the court, the temporary detention center and the NPU so that "nothing would happen to my wife." "I spent more than one sleepless night preparing complaints to all authorities. The situation was critical," he told a "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to him, he and Olga were afraid that she would be returned to the detention center again, where the suicide attempt occurred. Eskov appealed to the temporary detention facility management and to the appeal with a request to count the remaining ten days of the sentence as the time spent in the closed department of the PND, in order to avoid being sent back to the temporary detention facility.

Eskova's term of arrest ended on July 25, but, as her husband said, the PND doctors and the temporary detention facility staff did not inform her for a long time when and under what conditions they would release her.

"They told me that they were consulting with the "curators" - I realized that these were FSB officers. Without them, they could not decide whether to lock Olga in the temporary detention facility for 10 days or count her time in the PND," he said.

 As a result, on August 12, the woman was discharged home without being returned to the detention facility. Eduard Eskov specified that the duty unit of the temporary detention facility and the doctors of the mental hospital confirmed that the sentence is considered to be fully served.

Two days earlier, according to Eduard, he was warned that after Olga was discharged, police officers would deal with her "as part of a criminal case." "What kind of case exactly, and what she could have done while spending a month in two closed institutions, I was not told," he said.

According to her husband, Olga looks extremely tired and needs sleep and recovery after what she has experienced and treatment in the mental hospital. Eduard Eskov has not yet received a single response to the complaints filed with the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, the Prosecutor's Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Federal Service for Healthcare. An appeal in her case has not yet been scheduled for consideration.

"I am very tired and want to rest," Olga Eskova told a "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
