A conscript from the Rostov region died during training exercises

A conscript from Rostov Oblast, Valery Pukas, died from an electric shock during training in Kronstadt. The officers accompanying the conscript stated that he died due to a violation of safety regulations. His relatives are sure that it was the officers, and filed a complaint against them with the military investigative department.

A 21-year-old conscript from Rostov Oblast died from an electric shock near St. Petersburg.

The incident occurred at the end of June, but it became known only on August 2. According to the Baza Telegram channel, Valery Pukas and two of his fellow soldiers were taken to field training, accompanied by a senior lieutenant and a senior sergeant.

Valery's relatives were told that he died due to a "safety violation." According to them, the young man died while installing antenna mock-ups. The work was carried out under wires, the conscripts were moving the antenna and touched the power line. At that moment, they were holding on to the metal elements of the structure. After the electric shock, Valery lived for about 20 more minutes.

The family of the deceased believes that his senior officers are to blame for his death. According to them, the conscripts were not given safety training when working near power lines, and they were not provided with protective equipment in the form of rubber gloves and boots.

They contacted the Traumatpunkt advocacy project and want to prosecute the accompanying military personnel under Part 2 of Article 293 (negligence) and Part 2 of Article 109 (causing death by negligence) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

The Traumatpunkt Telegram channel reports details of the incident. In particular, it is noted that there was no paramedic nearby during the training, and the ambulance took too long to arrive. "I demand that those responsible for his death be held accountable! The perpetrators must be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law!" - the words of Pukas's mother are quoted in the publication of the advocacy project.

It is noted that the parents of the deceased conscript have already filed a statement with the military investigative department.
