Social media users criticize Adam Kadyrov’s award

In their comments on social media, users responded with ridicule to the recent award of a son of the leader of Chechnya. They believe that the medal “For Military Distinction” has been handed over to him groundlessly.

The awarding became possible due to the arbitrary interpretation of the merits of Kadyrov Jr. by the leaders of the “Rosgvardiya” (National Guard of Russia), analysts noted.

In their comments posted under the publication of the “Caucasian Knot”, Facebook* users considered the awarding was unfounded.

“Did he at least finish secondary school?” user Zakarya Zakharov expressed his surprise. “Leonid Brezhnev did not have as many awards as this kid!” wrote user Rita Kozaty.

Visitors to the “Echo of Dagestan” Telegram channel also met the information about the awarding with ridicule. “Will there be a separate medal for his coming to the awarding?” user A. Kh. asked, in particular.

“Such awards devalue all medals,” user Rassl expressed his opinion.

Readers of the “Caucasian Knot” also commented on the new awarding of Adam Kadyrov.

“It seems that today, as in the old days, orders and medals have some kind of status significance and are an indicator of a person’s belonging to a select company, something like an elite club, access to which is only available to a limited number of people ... 17-year-old Adam Kadyrov already has about 15 or even more orders and medals, including the star of ‘Hero of the Chechen Republic’. The question is, for what merits? What feats did he perform to be awarded with the medal ‘For Military Distinction’? In which battle did he distinguish himself?” wrote a reader with the nickname allison.auer.
