Amaglobeli’s advocate reports pressure on his client in hospital

In a hospital, employees demonstratively offer food to Mziya Amaglobeli, the founder of the “Batumelebi” and “Netgazeti” online publications, who is on a hunger strike for the third week.

On February 5, it became known that Mziya Amaglobeli’s medical examination test results had worsened. The journalist has been hospitalized, and she continues her hunger strike in the clinic.

Nona Kurdovanidze, the head of the “Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association” (GYLA), reports that in the “Vivamed” clinic, employees demonstratively put plates of food in front of Mziya Amaglobeli.

“This is an additional form of psychological pressure on her,” stated Nona Kurdovanidze as quoted by the “Tbilisi Life” Telegram channel.

Mziya Amaglobeli does not intend to stop her hunger strike and demanded to return her to prison if the medical examinations have already been completed, Nona Kurdovanidze has added.

Let us remind you that Mziya Amaglobeli was detained in Batumi on January 12. The reason for her detention was a poster calling for a strike. Mziya Amaglobeli was released, but immediately detained again. The journalist explained that while trying to get out of a crowd, she accidentally touched police chief Irakli Dgebuadze with her hand. The “Imedi” pro-government TV Channel released a video recording from which it follows that the journalist grabbed Irakli Dgebuadze by his jacket and then slapped him.
