Defendant in case on pogrom at Makhachkala airport pleads not guilty

Magomednabi Shaikhslamov, involved as a defendant in a case on pogrom at an airport in Makhachkala, claimed that he ended up at the scene of the riots by accident, since he worked as a taxi driver. The video shows Magomednabi Shaikhslamov approaching the police, talking to them and leaving, but investigators accused the man of using violence against a public official.

The “Caucasian Knot” has also reported that the Novokubansky District Court of the Krasnodar Territory began hearing cases on the riots at the Makhachkala airport on September 26.

Advocate Sapiyat Magomedova claims that her client Magomednabi Shaikhslamov ended up at the Makhachkala airport by accident.

“He has no radical views. But at the same time, he says that he cannot agree with the extermination of the people [in Palestine],” the advocate said.

Let us remind you that on June 13, Shamil Khadulaev, the chair of the Public Oversight Commission (POC) of Dagestan, noted the defendants claimed that they arrived at the Makhachkala airport, but did not take part in the riots.

Relatives of the men convicted in the case on the pogrom at the “Uytash” airport in Makhachkala considered the sentence to be excessively harsh. “Real provocateurs and violators are not being brought to responsibility, but our guys were sentenced so harshly,” said a mother of Salik Ramazanov, a defendant, convicted in the case on the pogrom at the Makhachkala airport.

According to the investigators’ version, the motive for participating in the mass riots for the defendants was national and religious hatred and enmity towards citizens of Israel.
