Defence succeeds in seeking medical treatment for Volgograd contract soldier

A contract soldier from Volgograd, who wanted to re-pass the military medical commission, was placed in a civilian clinic, and the military medical examination centre agreed to review the decision concerning if he was fit for the military service.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on March 2, a wife of Alexei, a 46-year-old participant of the special military operation, filed a lawsuit with the Volgograd Garrison Military Court with a request of getting her husband’s dismissal from the military service and providing him with psychiatric treatment. Military medical officers declared the man fit for the military service, while civilian doctors indicated that he needed medical treatment. On April 14, it became known that Alexei, who had been diagnosed with a number of severe illnesses, was again denied hospitalization.

Today, the civilian psychiatric hospital has handed over to the hospital a document stating that on April 17, Alexei was admitted to their medical institution with signs of anxiety, complaints of insomnia, and suicidal experiences “focused on military topics.”

A psychologist has confirmed that Alexei exhibits “depressive tendencies” and “a high level of suicidal risk and anxiety.”

Alexei’s defender has succeeded in seeking the basic requests to be met, emphasizes Olga Miroedova, the head of the “Spravedlivost” (Fairness) human rights organization. “The main centre of military medical expertise of the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) in Rostov-on-Don has agreed to examine Alexei to determine if he is fit for the military service,” Olga Miroedova reported.
