Volgograd student fined for discrediting Russian Army

A court in Volgograd has imposed a fine on Denis Umerov, a student, treating his comment in a social network as discrediting the Russian militaries.

"At the court session, Umerov explained that as a result of a provocation on the Internet and due to his stupidity, he committed an offense, but did not try to discredit the use of the Russian Armed Forces," "Kavkaz.Realii"* project quotes the court judgement.

According to the judgement, in his comments to a post in the social network, Denis Umerov expressed doubt that Russian militaries shell only military facilities.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that administrative responsibility for discrediting the Russian Armed Forces was introduced on March 4, 2022. After that, residents of Russia, including those in the Volgograd Region, began to be persecuted under this article. Thus, on April 25, the court imposed a fine on Evgenia Derkach, a nurse at the clinic of the Volgograd Medical University, treating her status on the "VKontakte" social network with a wish of peace in Ukraine as discrediting the Russian Army.
