Scam with "Kadyrov's money" damages opposition bloggers' reputation

The publication that Chechen oppositional bloggers received money from a representative of the Chechen authorities for staging their deaths and stopping criticism has hit their reputation, social media users and readers of the "Caucasian Knot" have pointed out. Thus, Tumso Abdurakhmanov, after being accused of receiving "money for silence," began ridiculing Chechen authorities again.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the "Novaya Gazeta. Europe" published an article by Elena Milashina, in which she announced the material interest of the bloggers, Tumso Abdurakhmanov and Khasan Khalitov, in staging their deaths on the order of Chechen authorities. However, Ms Milashina failed to prove that the intermediary, Bashir Albogachiev, who had contacted Tumso, was associated with Ramzan Kadyrov, Tumso himself has objected.

According to Elena Milashina, Khasan Khalitov was the first to stage an assassination attempt on him by the order of Bashir Albogachiev, "Kadyrov's intermediary"; however Khalitov was then in a Turkish migration prison.

Earlier, Ibragim Yangulbaev, Abubakar's brother, accused Abdurakhmanov of taking money "for silence" – termination of his criticism of Kadyrov. At the same time, Ibragim himself confessed to receiving USD 50,000 from the head of the falsification group of assassination attempts.

Some "Caucasian Knot" readers have found Milashina's version quite convincing. "Kadyrov can really rub his hands happily, as two of his ideological opponents, if not completely neutralized, then very seriously discredited," a commentator with the nickname peter has noted.

In his Telegram channel, Tumso Abdurakhmanov continues posting critical materials against Chechen authorities.

Let us remind you that Abdurakhmanov has regularly criticized Kadyrov and his entourage and more than once became the object of criticism from Chechen authorities.
